Eureka and Renton are flying over the wreckage of Gremcow, searching for survivors. When Renton says that they can't see anyone, Talho tells them to turn back. Eureka, however, wants to keep searching in case someone, anyone, is alive. Disheartened by the scene, Renton tells her to give up.

After returning to the Gekkostate, Eureka goes to her room, clearly upset with what she saw. Renton tries to figure out a way to cheer her up and, with Talho's help, he approaches Eureka to talk to her, "Eureka. I don't know what to say, but if your feelings can heal even a little bit by staying here, you can stay. From this point on, I don't know what kinds of horrible things await us. This is probably the only thing I can do for you. So, if you feel better, can you meet me outside?" As he goes to leave, Eureka catches him by his sleeve and wonders aloud, "Aren't I being a burden? Don't you think that I'm being troublesome?" Renton quickly rejects those questions, and the two talk about how they want to support and believe in the other. Renton and Eureka end up going outside to lift on a long board together, enjoying a moment of peace.

Later on, Holland gathers the crew together to apologize for his behavior, saying that he hurt people while trying to protect them, especially calling out how he treated Renton and Eureka. Then, he explains that the new mission of the Gekkostate will be dangerous, and disbands the group in order to give everyone a chance to leave if they choose to. After the talk is over, the group discusses this turn of events and decide to stand behind Holland again.

+ There are so many complex emotions and interactions here. For now, it will go over Eureka's head, but she may eventually catch onto it all with time.
+ Finding someone alive was critically important to her, though.
+ Lifting is wonderful, getting to talk to Renton is wonderful, being able to support Holland is wonderful. There are good feelings, too.
