After Charles' death, Eureka visits Renton in his room where he laments not being able to do anything to save Charles as Holland killed him. Renton asks if it was his fault that Charles died, saying that "Maybe, if I hadn't mentioned Eureka or the Nirvash back then, I would still be with Charles and Ray." Hurt because of her role in what happened, Eureka doesn't know how to comfort Renton, only suggesting that they visit Nirvash together.
The Nirvash appears to have suffered some damage and has shed its armor, but Renton and Eureka have said that Nirvash wants to grow up, rather than being hurt. They talk about how Nirvash must have been scared before Renton discovers Charles' ring in the distance. Eureka then muses aloud that she doesn't think anything will end at this rate, but she doesn't know what to do. She asks Renton what he thinks she should do, and he says that she should rest since she and the Nirvash are tired. (Eureka talks about not being able to sleep well, since she hasn't been hearing everyone's voices which Renton comments that a new hat might help with it, but I do not understand why this comes up or who even she isn't hearing. Still, it is the reason why Eureka asks Hilda about a new hat later on.)
With that, Eureka goes to get medicine to help sleep from Mischa, saying that she and Nirvash can't sleep, and Talho walks out of the infirmary when she hears Renton went to visit Holland. While alone, she lingers on her scars before Hilda ushers the children in. Maeter and Linck cry and rush to her when she calls to them, but Maurice does not with a conflicted expression.
Suddenly, a song starts to play on every station, and Ray begins an attack on the Gekkostate. Renton uses Nirvash to broadcast a signal to her, pleading for her to stop before he will have to kill her himself as he is determined to honor his promise with Charles and protect Eureka. Matthieu eventually notices a disturbance in the sound which helps to locate the KLFs that Ray is piloting. However, when they have been shot down, the truth of her plan is revealed: She tries to ram the Swan into the Gekko in a kamikaze attack. Ray accuses Eureka of stealing her future, so she will steal Eureka's future in turn, calling Eureka a monster. The Swan is shot down at the cost of the 909, and Holland is injured badly once more.
After Renton helps Holland with a blood transfusion, he complains that everyone is selfishly doing whatever they want without telling him the truth. "If they just told me, I'd be able to help them. I'd be able to support them. But, in the end, I can't do anything for them. I can't do anything for them, and I can't help them." Eureka says that she believes in Renton, so she wants to hear everything about him, and he says that he would like to hear about Eureka, too. She immediately becomes uncomfortable and scared at the thought, though.

In order to move forward with their new mission, Gekkostate lands near a Vodarac shrine on the outskirts of the Great Wall. Renton and the children meet with Tiptory, while Eureka stays inside with Talho, refusing to see her. While Eureka hesitates because of the fact that she isn't human, Talho assures her that her race doesn't have anything to do with it. "Go meet the Vodarek people as another inhabitant of the same planet. The same way that Renton met you," is Talho's advice. However, Eureka remains intractable on the issue.
As Eureka passes the time with Talho, she questions why beings exist in the world which Talho, appropriately, calls a tough question. Still, she says that Eureka shouldn't think of the world and the beings in it as separate things; the world is made up of beings, and beings make up the world. Talho pats her stomach, saying that her child is teaching her that, and Eureka asks if she is happy that she's going to have a family. Talho replies that she will have two children, since Holland is like a child himself, and goes on to say that Renton is like a child, too. Eureka bristles at this, sulking and denying that she's mad when she is, which only causes Talho to tease her more. Talho calls Eureka cute, and Eureka responds by throwing a pillow at Talho, starting a pillow fight between the two of them. The fun is quickly broken up by Mischa coming to find Talho since she missed lunch, and Mischa chides Talho that her body is not her own anymore since she is pregnant. Eureka says that humans are amazing, since they can keep a separate life within them to which Mischa explains that as something that Eureka has the ability to do as well.
Finally, Eureka joins the rest of the group with Mischa and Talho, but she quickly turns to leave when her appearance shocks the others. Tiptory traces the scars on her cheek, realizing what path Eureka choose and the pain she suffered for it, which causes Eureka to burst into tears. Watching this exchange, Renton asks Holland what is going to happen to them, and Holland explains that they will infiltrate the shrine in order to meet with Sakuya in the hopes of finding a way to save the world. Once they meet with Sakuya, if everything is decided, then everything will begin to move according to Norb. However, he warns that Eureka and Renton may not return upon beginning this journey.
In order to sneak into the shrine, the crew dresses up as pilgrims while taking part in the Love Parade, hiding the LFOs as offering floats. However, the children hiding inside of Nirvash accidentally reveal it to the gathered crowds which causes alarm among all the worshipers who recognize the "White Devil". Holland and the others stay behind to hold off any pursuers, while Eureka and the others enter the shrine. As they journey further into the shrine, they pass many corpses along the way who are the people who died trying to fuse with a Compac Drive in order to open Sakuya's heart. Norb, however, is able to open the path down into the inner part of the shrine with the Compac Drive in his chest. Once they reach the lower levels, Norb explains that there is no Trapar in the underground vault as it is toxic to Sakuya, so Eureka and the others can't be harmed here. Eventually, they arrive at a pool of water. Peering into the darkness, Eureka senses Sakuya before a giant lotus flower is revealed to the group.
+ Oh, wow, we have some revelations! There is the big buzz word, Coralian, in there!
+ Sakuya is also a Coralian, and she is also revered as a saint by the Vodarac.
+ There is a nebulous end goal of saving the world that appears, too.
+ Talho is pregnant, oooh . . .
