They plan to infiltrate the capital airspace through an orbital launch. As Eureka and Renton plan to get ready for launch, Holland says that he needs to speak to them. As Holland begins to speak about how he met Norb at Ciudades del Cielo, but Eureka quickly interrupts, wanting to tell Renton herself. However, Holland says that it is his job to. He narrates how he first met her, what she was like, and why she became part of the SOF. When he comes to the incident at del Cielo, he explains the mission of the SOF at that time: To eliminate the rebel Vodarec threat as well as capturing an infamous high priest, Norb.
After Norb singlehandedly disarms Holland in his LFO, they discuss the conflict between the Federation and the Vodarec. Holland dismisses the Vodarec, saying it's impossible to coexist with people who worship monsters who eat humans, the Coralians. Norb corrects Holland, calling the Coralians the dream of the planet, and says that his first love, Sakuya, was a Coralian. He goes on to tell Holland that Eureka is not human; She was born in the same shape as humans, seeking interaction with them. Holland protests, but Norb tells him that Dewey plans to bring on a second Summer of Love which will destroy the planet.
In order to convince Holland about the connection between the human spirit and the spirit within the planet, Norb destroys the towers hanging over del Cielo before collapsing from the strain. When Holland comes closer to him, he discovers a compac drive embedded in Norb's chest. Eureka arrives on the scene with the children in Nirvash's cockpit, silently looking to Holland for an answer. Norb tells Holland that Eureka still has a chance to learn and grow if she is able to find a partner. Through finding someone that can make her smile, Eureka will be able to go beyond the Great Wall and serve as proof of the coexistence between humans and Coralians.
After that meeting, Holland explains that he defected from the army with Eureka and put together Gekkostate in order to follow Norb's instructions. He impresses upon Renton the fact that he
is Eureka's partner and that he should have faith in himself, since he was chosen by Eureka herself. Renton and Eureka are left in silence, blushing from Holland's revelation. Later on, the two smile and reassure each other as they look down on the world from space. While the crew discusses strategy for entering the capital, Moondoggie volunteers to fly the Gekko in Talho's place . . .

During a test of the Amita Drive, the Seven Swell effect was unknowingly caused. Adrock pulls the Compac and Amita drives from the Nirvash as he realizes the connection between a human and Eureka will have profound effects on the world. With this, he vanishes in an instant, seemingly disappearing from the world.
+ Echoes of this incident arise throughout Eureka's lifetime as it is her first brush with fear and, ultimately, loss.
SKILL: AlterationAmethyst pen.When she arrives in the Promised Land, Eureka's body begins to take on more Coralian like characteristics in order to create an equilibrium between her relationship with a human, Renton, and her own more advanced humanity. The process stops after it has engulfed areas that were previously scarred due to Eureka's desperate return to Scub Coral. However, it does quickly take over the whole of her when her existence as a "human" is threatened and extinguished.
AO: 14. Starfire (13)Strand of pearls.As Eureka is in labor with Ao at the clinic, Fukai is reduced to standing by and holding onto Eureka's hand as she struggles with the pain.
