idkmybffnirvash: (dark side of the moon.)
Name Luna / Eureka
Age She appears to be fourteen, but her actual age is a mystery.
Team Amethyst

Height/Build Average, light.
Hair Color/Eye Color Aquamarine, purple with a pink-red ring.
Notable Traits She is pale, and the whites of her eyes are a few shades towards blue more than anyone else in her canon. Her constitution can be very weak, at times. EDIT: She appears like so!

Other She isn't human! She was born in the shape of a human from a sentient being that fused with coral tens of thousands of years ago. If your character would notice that, then go for broke. She still has all the biological functions of a human, though.

idkmybffnirvash: (fly along with me.)
Since Eureka has her first shareable memory, I need to write a small breakdown about how she sees and feels the world.

  • Eureka can see somewhat into the ultraviolet and infrared part of the light spectrum! It means that some of the colors that she sees are slightly off. She can also see lingering traces of ultraviolet radiation, see better in the dark, observe some levels of heat on objects, and so on. To any human or three-cone visual characters, all of her memories would look strange, essentially.

  • Specific to her world, Eureka can see trapar which is an energy that appears as neon green particles in the sky, band together to form waves when lifting, and so on. Humans cannot, but she can.

  • Eureka also has a low-grade awareness of Scub Coral that covers the surface of the planet. Normally, she doesn't show any awareness of unless something is happening. Think of it as being empathetically bonded with asphalt, but you don't notice it unless someone blows up the road.

  • More importantly, she has a higher grade awareness of Nirvash which she sees as a living creature (see above), and she can interact with. Again, it is an empathetic bond, but there is a greater dialogue and connection between the two of them. For the sake of not creating a voice for Nirvash, I will say that her communication is more removed from human language and leans more towards thoughts when it comes to this. She speaks with language to Nirvash, because she is inoculated in human language, but it does not essentially reply in that same language.

Underneath the tree with silver feathers hanging from it, there is a worn and well-used book with a cover that has the sky, stars, clouds, moon, and sun drawn on it. Inside, there are pages with the names and pictures of Amethyst's very first members (Tide, Pride, Misato . . . ) to the newest of the new (Peregrine, Orion, Starling.) There are notes on each page, with some having more than others, but they are all short, only a word long, with such notes as, kind, soccer, Comet, archer, intelligent and so on.

In between each page, there are origami shapes stuck in. Some are new with crisp folds, and others are old and brittle. If you looked inside them (managing to carefully open them is a feat in itself), you will find a note. Some are inane, How are you? Everyone's doing okay.; others are more thoughtful, When you come back, I'll teach you how to play soccer. We're going to make a team.; and some are touching, I miss you. I hope you aren't lonely because you can't see us. We're still waiting.

34. Inner Flight
Sea grapes, three.

The crew discusses Norb being captured by the Federation army and the repercussions for the capital and world if he is executed. They plan to infiltrate the capital airspace through an orbital launch. As Eureka and Renton plan to get ready for launch, Holland says that he needs to speak to them. As Holland begins to speak about how he met Norb at Ciudades del Cielo, but Eureka quickly interrupts, wanting to tell Renton herself. However, Holland says that it is his job to. He narrates how he first met her, what she was like, and why she became part of the SOF. When he comes to the incident at del Cielo, he explains the mission of the SOF at that time: To eliminate the rebel Vodarec threat as well as capturing an infamous high priest, Norb.

After Norb singlehandedly disarms Holland in his LFO, they discuss the conflict between the Federation and the Vodarec. Holland dismisses the Vodarec, saying it's impossible to coexist with people who worship monsters who eat humans, the Coralians. Norb corrects Holland, calling the Coralians the dream of the planet, and says that his first love, Sakuya, was a Coralian. He goes on to tell Holland that Eureka is not human; She was born in the same shape as humans, seeking interaction with them. Holland protests, but Norb tells him that Dewey plans to bring on a second Summer of Love which will destroy the planet.

In order to convince Holland about the connection between the human spirit and the spirit within the planet, Norb destroys the towers hanging over del Cielo before collapsing from the strain. When Holland comes closer to him, he discovers a compac drive embedded in Norb's chest. Eureka arrives on the scene with the children in Nirvash's cockpit, silently looking to Holland for an answer. Norb tells Holland that Eureka still has a chance to learn and grow if she is able to find a partner. Through finding someone that can make her smile, Eureka will be able to go beyond the Great Wall and serve as proof of the coexistence between humans and Coralians.

After that meeting, Holland explains that he defected from the army with Eureka and put together Gekkostate in order to follow Norb's instructions. He impresses upon Renton the fact that he is Eureka's partner and that he should have faith in himself, since he was chosen by Eureka herself. Renton and Eureka are left in silence, blushing from Holland's revelation. Later on, the two smile and reassure each other as they look down on the world from space. While the crew discusses strategy for entering the capital, Moondoggie volunteers to fly the Gekko in Talho's place . . .

38. Summer of Love
Amethyst gemstone, infinite.

I failed, Eureka. I don't deserve to sit next to you. I have children that I need to protect. And so I can't let this world come to an end. I'm sorry.

During a test of the Amita Drive, the Seven Swell effect was unknowingly caused. Adrock pulls the Compac and Amita drives from the Nirvash as he realizes the connection between a human and Eureka will have profound effects on the world. With this, he vanishes in an instant, seemingly disappearing from the world.

+ Echoes of this incident arise throughout Eureka's lifetime as it is her first brush with fear and, ultimately, loss.

SKILL: Alteration
Amethyst pen.

When she arrives in the Promised Land, Eureka's body begins to take on more Coralian like characteristics in order to create an equilibrium between her relationship with a human, Renton, and her own more advanced humanity. The process stops after it has engulfed areas that were previously scarred due to Eureka's desperate return to Scub Coral. However, it does quickly take over the whole of her when her existence as a "human" is threatened and extinguished.

AO: 14. Starfire (13)
Strand of pearls.

As Eureka is in labor with Ao at the clinic, Fukai is reduced to standing by and holding onto Eureka's hand as she struggles with the pain. To the question of where the father is, Eureka replies through gasps of breath, "He's fighting. For our child... For us... So I must fight, too...!" After another push, the sound of a child crying is heard: Ao is born on June 27, 2012.
idkmybffnirvash: (even if we're in different places.)
23. Final Frontier
Silver chain that must be removed to share an echo of the memory.

Something appears from the new pole light and sets about destroying the coral plant near Okinawa. As this happens, Eureka appears to the crew of Pied Piper and tells them that he has arrived. While she waits, the fact that Eureka has been traveling through time, unable to maintain a physical form or stay in on place for long, is explained by Elena.

Once Renton forces his way to the bridge, Eureka stops him from coming closer, showing that she is in a half-state. Quickly, she comments on how Ao has grown up well and is more upfront than his father. She tells Renton that Ao has what Renton wants and that is also the reason that he was called there. With that, she disappears in a beam of light.

SKILL: Parenting
Plush baby swan.

Eureka can change diapers, feed and burb babies, hold them correctly, and much more. Hey, it was important and useful at the time.

14. Memory Band
Cake pop, one to four uses.

After running into the Coralian and fighting with the military, the Gekko is severely damaged and unable to do anything other than cruise at low altitudes. Three days after the fight, Eureka finally wakes up and appears to be making a swift recovery to Mischa's surprise.

With some deliberation, Holland decides to head to FAC 51 in order to repair the Gekko at an abandoned mine . . .

30. Discovery
Gummi worms, seven uses

In a cave, a research team discovered the archetype of Nirvash and later Eureka while mining. In order to study this archetype, Tresor was developed as a laboratory and engineering complex. The research teams began to study the mysterious archetype, applying electrical currents in order to produce responses for movement. Meanwhile, Eureka was taken care of by a team of scientists that included Mischa, Sonia, Greg, and Adrock in order to discover more about the girl who was discovered along with the Nirvash. Eventually, the team decided to allow Eureka to use the prototype system they had developed, and she was able to work with the archetype much more skillfully than anyone had before. The team made additional developments with Nirvash, deciding to use trapar to power the machine and give it greater mobility through lifting. Eureka comments that she only recalls her first flight from this time, though she can recognize many of the people from it later on.

48. Ballet Mechanique
Golden ring, eight uses.

While Eureka, Renton, and the children wait by the Command Cluster, they remark on how the fingers of the hand are named after family members. The thumb is the father, the index is the mother, the middle is the older brother, the ring is the older sister, and the pinky is the younger brother — Just like the family that they have. As they talk, Nirvash responds to a strange reaction in the sky. From far above where they are, Dewey has fired onto the Command Cluster, creating a gap in the Scub Coral large enough for Anemone to slip into through with theEND. Quickly, in order to stop theEND, Nirvash launches on its own.

The two LFOs fight desperately, but theEND is able to launch a satellite into the Command Cluster, completing its mission. As Nirvash continues to hold theEND off, it tells Eureka that it can sense the pilot of theEND is in great pain and that they should listen to her voice. Eureka tells Renton this, and he eventually agrees to listen, creating a connection between the LFOs. In despair, the family listens to Anemone's laments.

ANEMONE: If they tell me I can live on after this battle, I'll buy a small mirror and practice smiling.
MAETER: She sounds so sad.
LINCK: Don't cry!
MAURICE: Renton ...
EUREKA: Let's save her.
RENTON nods.
ANEMONE: I’ll practice over and over. So, I can see him again...
EUREKA: I can hear you! I can hear your voice!
ANEMONE: If they tell me that I can live without hurting anyone else, I'll tie up my hair swaying in the wind, take a giant leap onto the earth, and then hold my head up high and go see him. I want to live. To say my thanks. I want to live... To give so many feelings to people.
RENTON: You can say them!
ANEMONE: I want to live! I wish I didn't realize I had feelings like these!
EUREKA: It's all right for you to live! Nobody ever said that you had no right to live!
ANEMONE: But it hurts so much! He isn't with me anymore! It's too much... It's too much!
EUREKA, RENTON, and the CHILDREN leave the cockpit to hold each other, hold hands, to show Anemone they believe in her.
EUREKA: I'm sure your feelings will reach him, Anemone.
ANEMONE: No, Eureka... Now... There's no way they'll ever reach him. VASCUDE—

However, contrary to what Anemone thinks, Dominic suddenly appears, clutching to a board amidst the wreckage of his craft. theEND finishes firing and blows Dominic away, though. Eureka and the rest quickly get back into the cockpit, watching theEND change into a bright silver from its black and following the two lovers as they are reunited. Watching Anemone find the strength to live, the family promises to live together as well.

The peace does not last as a laser is fired upon the Command Cluster, destroying the great structure amidst unearthly screams as well as theEND as it protects Anemone and Dominic. When the wave clears, everyone looks on in awe of what little wreckage is left.

+ Let's not talk about how Anemone's feelings startlingly echoes Eureka's, because it will hurt me.
+ . . . so much pain . . .
idkmybffnirvash: (think i know enough of hate.)
29. Keep On Movin'
Strawberry tart, One or two uses.

Until I can do a write-up: Talho tells everyone that Eureka is a Coralian, and they are fighting because of her.

26. Morning Glory
Chocolate kiss.

Until I can do a write-up: Eureka disagrees with Holland that she is more important than Renton. She then goes out on her own to find Renton.

9, 34. Ciudades del Cielo
Faberge egg, Seven uses.

During the massacre at Ciudades del Cielo, they were ordered to kill everyone who lived in the city because they were considered terrorists for protecting the Scub Coral and Coralians, and they were ordered to capture Norb as well. After killing several people, Eureka came across the kids, and after getting over the initial shock of seeing them, she tries to reach for them but they are too terrified of her. Now having understand that she was killing people, she decides to protect them. ... Norb collapses to the ground and tells Holland to look behind him, revealing Eureka and the kids in the Nirvash.

18. Ill Communication
Magazine page.

As the crew works in the mines, Hilda, Eureka, and the children help to take care of feeding the crew. When the loud banging stops, the children becomes interested, wondering what could have caused it to stop. Maeter insists on going to see it, but Hilda says that she must ask for Eureka's permission which she gives. However, Maeter becomes upset when Eureka refuses to, pushing her mother to come along. Eventually, Eureka shouts at Maeter to stop which causes the girl to cry. When Eureka begins to apologize, Maeter turns to Hilda for comfort which upsets Eureka. Hilda takes the children to the cave while Eureka goes off to see Mischa for a check-up.

Upon seeing Eureka's condition, she goes to find Holland as Eureka rests while connected to monitors. Mischa talks with Holland about Eureka's condition saying that she doesn't have an explanation for why Eureka is doing badly, only saying the the mines or Nirvash are somehow stressing Eureka. She then wonders how long Eureka has been away from Nirvash, and Holland answers that it has been ten days; the first time that Eureka has ever been separated for such a long time from Nirvash . . .

After a few days, Eureka catches Renton as he is leaving from dinner, asking if Nirvash is doing alright. He invites her to come the mines with him to see for herself. As the travel up to the mines, Eureka becomes more quiet and eventually stopping altogether, unable to explain why she can't continue. A sound begins to ring out from the mines, and Renton explains that it must be Britanni, running off to go see him. As the Gekkostate crew listens into military radio, Eureka bursts into to explain that Renton was taken along with the Nirvash.

Once the Nirvash has been recovered and Renton goes off to his room, Eureka arrives to speak with him through the door. She thanks him for saving Nirvash. Then, Eureka goes on to explain that she thinks Renton ought to pilot it instead, since she can't do anything at the moment, and says that Nirvash would like that, too. She promises to speak to Holland to make him understand the situation, but Renton opens the door only to dismiss her words and ask Eureka to leave him alone. Once he closes the door, she pauses before quickly kicking it.

SKILL: Basic Training
Silver locket.

What you would expect, really. Eureka was trained as a soldier, even if she may have been given certain exceptions in her training, so this includes the physical as well as mental component of it. She does get a marginal leg-up in strength and endurance.
idkmybffnirvash: (o11)
AO: 13. She's a Rainbow (15)
A pair of gloves.

The Gekko sits in the middle of the ocean on a bright night. Ao is sitting in Renton's old track suit, fishing with an empty can, while Eureka checks up on him. The line gets a strong bite, and he is pulled near the edge of the ship. Before falling off, Eureka catches him, asking if he's alright. Ao worries after her baby, and Eureka is surprised that he noticed. She says that the baby is six months along, a healthy child. As a plane flies over head, they watch it with trepidation.

Inside the lounge below the cockpit, there is a spread of rations. Eureka gives her thanks for the food, but Ao neglects to which earns him a quick slap and remonstration. He gives his thanks, and Eureka says that he's a good boy. They talk about how old Ao is as he comments on his first day of middle school going awry. Excitedly, Eureka interrupts him, ecstatic over how good the food is. Eventually, they talk about the situation between the two of them:

AO: Um... You should really ask for protection.
EUREKA: From Generati... You mentioned them earlier. Is that the name of this country?
AO: No, it's not a country...
EUREKA: Ah, right. This is Earth, after all. But it's entirely different from the one I come from.
AO: Mo—Eureka, what was your Earth like?

[She looks down, pensive and uncomfortable, before looking to him with a smile.]

EUREKA: Have you heard of Scub Coral?
AO: Yeah. We have it here, too.
EUREKA: No. There's a lot more of it. It covers the entire planet. People were living on the top of it. Humans and the Scub Coral lived together.

When she finishes, Eureka rubs a hand thoughtfully over her stomach which causes Ao to fall silent. As the situation between the military forces intensifies, the two move onto the cafeteria that is worn from age. Ao fiddles with the Compac Drive as Eureka explains the Gekko and the crew that once lived aboard it.

AO: The Gekko?
EUREKA: Yeah, it's the name of this ship. I traveled on it with many people a long time ago. We were all on a journey together.
AO: Was you, uh ...
EUREKA: Baby?
AO: Yeah. Was its father traveling with you, too?

[She blushes, covering her face with her hands in embarrassment.]

EUREKA: How did you know! Oh, no! But, at first, it wasn't like that. We were pretty much like children back then. He was a crybaby as well, and kind of useless...
AO: You didn't love him?
EUREKA: Nope... I did. Every bit of him.
AO: Um, and was Dad...

[He pauses, letting his question hang, as he sees Eureka looking out the window longingly.]

AO: Do you want to go back?
EUREKA: Yeah. I think Renton will come for me, though. But I don't really know where I am.
AO: Renton?
EUREKA: To research the cause of the disappearing Scub Coral, we purposely allowed the Scub Coral to consume this ruined ship. But while we were conducting this experiment, we were both caught up in this.
AO: Both? The other Nirvash?
EUREKA: You're piloting a Nirvash, too. Right? It's so weird. It looks just like the one Renton is building now.

Suddenly, Ivica and the rest enter the cafeteria which scares Eureka. Ao explains that they were who the pair called earlier as Ivica quickly goes to greet Eureka who does not remember him. As Ao goes to talk with Ivica, Eureka talks with Hannah about the condition of her baby. She explains what the concerns of the doctors are about a child born between parents of two different species as well as if her child would hate her for having been born in such a difficult position. Hannah quickly reprimands her, "Stop there if you really think so. You fell in love with someone and you're bearing his child. It's all because you wanted to. Are you just starting to worry about the child now? Shouldn't you just focus on how to overcome the difficulties?"

The conversation dies off when Ao shouts at Gazelle. However, this fight is interrupted by the JAF forces arriving on the Gekko. They quickly detain Hannah while Eureka is secured by Endo who is surprised to see her, clearly remembering her from another time. As Ivica and the others arrive to investigate the explosion, a fire fight quickly starts.

As Endo escorts Eureka away, he explains the situation between the Allied Forces and Generation Blue. He says that she can't trust them, and the Japanese are wishing only for peace. However, he stops when he notices Truth in the distance. In an instant, Endo is hurt when he protects Eureka from Truth. Ivica and Ao are quickly dealt with as Truth is intent of being the one to take possession from Eureka. As Endo shoots Truth in order to fulfill a request from long ago, he is crushed to death in retaliation. Eureka sobs and starts to cry, heartbroken at the disaster caused by her appearance in this place. She quickly makes to escape, falling through a hole into the Gekko's hangar. She readies Nirvash, saying that she doesn't understand anything about the situation, only that she has to protect this planet. The Nirvash launches as the two charge forward to stop Truth.

+ Oh, there are consequences of having children between humans and Coralians ...
+ Sure did hook up with Renton and is madly in love with him.
+ ... Sure did set-up Endo to get killed.

25. World's End Garden
Sliced loaf of bread, Five.

While in the hangar, Eureka asks Nirvash if it feels sad because no one is around to pilot it, likening it to the hole that she feels within her own chest. However, Nirvash remains silent even as Eureka asks it to respond.

Later, she is curled up in Nirvash's cockpit, calling out Renton's name.
idkmybffnirvash: (even if we're in different places.)
SKILL: Awakening
Sour jawbreaker.

With this skill, Eureka's biology changes to having more human responses. It is hard to definitively explain as the series passes over it as Eureka reading as more human without qualifications to what that is, but she is able to experience dreams, is extremely fatigued and hurt for a period, and becomes more emotional with the help of outside influences. In short, Coral doesn't know about brain chemistry, but it figures it out eventually to great advantage for Eureka . . . ?
idkmybffnirvash: (new world order.)
19. Acperience 2
Dried apple slices, Three.

Eureka is leaning against the wall, motionless, while Mischa is packing up her medical supplies. She says that they need to go as they are in danger, but Eureka dully says that she doesn't want to go back into the cave. After a moment of silence, Mischa apologizes to Eureka for not knowing why she is not doing well nor what to do to help her, only asking that she bear with it for now. Eureka shuts her eyes, exhausted and in pain. The kids run into the room to tell Mischa that Renton won't come out from his room, but they shy away when they notice Eureka, clearly scared to be around her. She numbly turns away from them, hurting once more.

When Mischa bangs on Renton's door, he doesn't answer, but Eureka doesn't pay attention to the scene. She only glances off towards the caves. Talho arrives on the scene and drags him out, loading all of the children, Eureka, and Renton into a van. As they head to the cave, Eureka slips and leans on Renton's shoulder before eventually sitting back when Talho reprimands him. Once they arrive at the cave, Mischa has to carry Eureka onto the Gekko since she is unable to stand on her own.

As Eureka is collapsed on a bed, she spots the kids peeking in on her. She tries to smile for them, but they run away from her, scared and nervous. Immediately, she weakly stand up and stumbles after them for a few steps before falling. Braced on the floor, she apologizes and says that something is wrong with her. Eureka asks if all of the children hate her now as much as the Nirvash does . . . Slowly, Eureka makes her way to the hangar, using the walls for support and falling several times. When she finds her way into Nirvash's cockpit, she begins to speak to Nirvash, "What should I do? Now, the kids also hate me. Why is it? Why did things end up this way?" Eureka glances at the Compac Drive in Nirvash and begins to reach for it. She goes on, "I guess I've changed. If things were going to change like this, I wish I hadn't changed at all." Eureka, then, slips and pulls the drive out which causes Nirvash instantly springs to life, changing his control colors. With that, the LFO races out of the Gekko and heads deep into the caves.

After awhile, Nirvash stops, having brought Eureka to a certain location within the caves. She climbs out and wanders towards one of the large pillars within the cave. When Eureka reaches out and touches the pillar, it changes from a dull gray to a bright, glowing fuchsia. Eureka is overwhelmed by this before falling against the pillar which turns soft enough to catch her, beginning to envelope her. Eventually, the substance wraps around her completely, sublimating her into itself. In another place, several red velvet curtains pull back to reveal Eureka with her hair loose then a bright, deserted landscape with plain, empty bookshelves that stretch on and on into the sun. As Eureka looks over the scene, surprised and confused, she recalls something important.

EUREKA: Oh, that's right. I was looking for a book. I have to find it. I have to find the book.

[She begins to run.]

EUREKA: If I don't hurry, the bus will leave without me. If I don't hurry, the sun will set. I have to hurry and find my book. If I don't hurry, the night will melt me away.

[She stops in front of a bookshelf that has a white book laying at the bottom most shelf. She kneels down to pick it up and open it, realizing that the book is blank.]

EUREKA: This is me. A book without words. A book with nothing written in it. This is me.

[The sun changes into a moon filling the same circular space as the sky turns to night. She looks up into the sky, up at the moon.]

EUREKA: There is nothing about me. I am nothing at all. I couldn't find who I am...

[She grows more upset as she goes on. The scene changes to her falling down in front of the bright surface of the moon.]

EUREKA: Melting, melting. I'm melting away. Scared, I'm scared ...

[She has a pained face, ready to cry.]

EUREKA: Someone... Someone, help me. Please, someone ... Someone, help me. Help me, Renton...

[She begins to cry. Then, a large hand sweeps out to catch her.]

Renton struggles to pull Eureka free from the substance that is wrapped around her, but he eventually collapses to the ground with her. Unaware of the situation, Eureka begins to speak to him, "I'm sorry. It's because I took the Amita Drive... This is what I deserve for doing something like that... Tell me... What's going to become of me now...? I... I... I'm sorry..." Confused and distressed, Renton begins to cry, wanting to help Eureka and realizing his own mistakes. However, Eureka passes out as a strange chain of events begins to unfold . . .

So, I have been in Spain for a month! And I think I have my schedule figured out—! The deal is that I don't really have much time online as expected. I generally should be online for an hour or two after dinner, then I sometimes pop online when I am home for lunch. Otherwise, my times are sporadic and short. Naturally, my weekends are not at all stable since events and exploring comes up. To summarize that neatly into sensible timezones, I get on at about 4PM EST and 1PM PST after dinner. If I am around in the afternoons, it is probably around 9AM EST and 6AM PST. Give or take some time both ways, because ~who really knows~.

So, I am clearly not around for threading very often or at prime times, but I would like to put two notices out: 1) Hello, fellow strange timezone people, we should play more often. ♥ I am looking at you, Deli. 2) I ask and will continue to ask about what is going on with characters on plurk, since I do not have the time that I used to in order to shuffle through plurks and threads to see what's going on. Please, go ahead and drop any kind of information in those plurks at any time, so I can stay in the loop. ♥ Who doesn't love an open invitation to ramble about your characters, really? I also plurk ping notifications in my inbox, so that is another way to easily grab my attention to something specific.

10. Higher Than the Sun
Blue glass ball.

After hearing about a spot with good waves coming, Holland prepares the Gekkostate for a trajectory flight to fly over the atmosphere to arrive in time. Eureka, Renton, and the children are spending time in the hangar together when the warning for the flight occurs. Thoughtfully, Eureka tosses a barf bag at Renton saying that it will be a rough trip. When the Gekkostate has reached zero gravity, the kids are impatient to run free. The group heads to the ship's windows in order to see the planet that they all live on . . . Eureka looks uncomfortable as she looks at an impossibly large storm spreading over a part of the world, the Great Wall, but Renton is distracted from her troubled expression by the feeling of her pressing against his back.

Once they land at the wrong location, an old military base, everyone heads in their own directions. Eureka asks if Renton is going to go lifting, but she says that she wants to stay where she is when he asks about her plans. In turn, Renton says that he will stay with her because of zero gravity. She is confused about this reason, but she says that it is nice. While the kids sleep, Eureka tries to do some repair work, but Nirvash will not open up for her, only opening for Renton. As he goes on to help her with another part, Eureka covers his hand, asking Renton what she should do since her voice won't reach Nirvash.

Renton goes on to check the rest of Nirvash as he realizes her unease with the machine, but he considers the problem to be mechanical, not psychological. Eventually, Eureka comes to sit closer to him, looking at Nirvash from the same perspective, while appearing completely lost. Again, Renton is distracted by Eureka, drawing close for a kiss, but is immediately teased by Jobs and Woz about letting it all spill out. As he tries to make a confession, the two interrupt again, and Renton gives up while Eureka is confused by what Renton is supposed to say.

After the check, Renton and Eureka watch the sunrise together until a bird lands in Renton's hair which makes Eureka laugh. The children come up to check out the bird, but it flies off to join a group to sky fish.

+ This is Nirvash's rejection of Eureka immediately after Ciudades del Cielo. She does not react well to this turn of events, and it continues to plague her for the rest of the season.

3. AO: Still Fighting (14)
Teacup, Infinite.

On a clear, blue day, Nirvash and Eureka appear in the skies above Iwato. After Nirvash bails Eureka out, she falls into the sea and is rescued by a nearby fisherman. When she is brought to shore, Dr. Fukai works quickly to save her life. The appearance of a woman with blue hair does not go unnoticed by the island, though.

Later on, American forces come to the island to investigate the appearance of an "alien". Dr. Fukai refuses to let them near Eureka which allows her stay at the island for awhile . . .

3. Motion Blue
Hourglass, Three uses.

Holland finds out what the situation is with the Gekkostate, and he tells Eureka that they are already too late, though he isn't bothered by that fact. As he goes to read the waves, Eureka says that she would like to and leads Renton forcefully out to do so. Eureka teaches Renton how to, then comments that Renton is amusing, like one of her kids. Renton frets over the comment, musing out loud that he doesn't know her name, which Eureka helpfully gives him. She asks for his name, then she says that she hasn't met someone like him in awhile. She says she met someone very like him awhile ago, and that he is very similar to that person.

With a plan in mind, Holland explains the details to Eureka; he is planning to do a drop-in on the Gekkostate. Meanwhile, Talho is concerned about the Amita Drive, and Holland gives Renton instructions to remove the device if anything happens. Still, Holland is certain that nothing will happen. As Holland sets off, Eureka says that Holland is mysterious, and she can't be certain what he's going to do. However, for that reason, she can believe in him.

Eureka and Renton take off as planned, and Eureka is ecstatic with how much better the Nirvash feels. She gleefully invites Nirvash to a dance as they fly. When they get closer to the time for the mission, Renton questions where Eureka's back-up is, and she says that she doesn't need any as they would only get in the way. Because she can't trust in anyone but Holland or Nirvash, it is what she always does. With that, she quickly dispatches the units that are blocking Gekkostate's means of escape.

As they go to join the rest, Renton sees a huge bloom of salt. Eureka asks if Renton remembers what had happened before, during the Seven Swell, and she quietly realizes that he doesn't when he is confused by the question. Once they arrive, Renton is scrutinized by the crew before Eureka appears to ask Renton to stay near the Nirvash, saying that she wants to believe in him. The exchange is interrupted when Eureka runs off to answer her children's calls, and she introduces the group before going off with them.

13. AO: She's a Rainbow (10)
Snake fang, Three uses.

As Eureka heads toward a battle with the Nirvash along with Japanese forces she introduces herself to one of the mercenaries, Ivica Tanovich. This earns him jeers from the rest of the soldiers which he quickly yells at. Eureka goes on to say that she met him before, which confuses Ivica as he heard that she landed in Okinawa two years ago. She says that it was much longer ago that they met when she came "here" once before. With that, she quietly looks on to a Japanese soldier, Endou.

When Endou takes a picture of Eureka, she tells him that she has a son. A two year old, trouble-maker. She asks him to take care of him if anything should happen to her . . .

While the forces try to subdue the Secret, Eureka works with the Nirvash to remove the quartz. The situation becomes dire, so Eureka abandons the Nirvash, leaving it to fight off the Secret on its own. She activates the quartz, apologizing to Ao, before she disappears into a beam of light while guiding the quartz to another time and place.
